Karnataka Government Has Announced The Apple’s Initial Manufacturing Operations

The tech giant, Apple is set to expand its horizons in Indian market by setting up its manufacturing unit in the Bengaluru, Karnataka. The Karnataka government has agreed to the proposal to allow Apple to set up their manufacturing unit in the country but it has not been initiated yet. Reluctantly, the enormous tech company which is dominating more than half of smartphones market of India is moving slowly with this decision.

The Karnataka state government has mentioned that, “Apple’s intentions to manufacture in Bengaluru will foster cutting edge technology ecosystem and supply chain development in the state, which are critical for India to compete globally,”

They also added, “Apple’s decision on initial manufacturing in Bengaluru has further enhanced the reputation of Bengaluru as the most preferred destination for foreign investment and further validation of the State Government Policies aimed at fostering manufacturing, innovation and investments in Karnataka”.

Priyank Khagre, who is Information and Technology Minister of the state scribbled on Twitter that, “Glad to announce initial manufacturing operations of the world’s most valued company: Apple, in Karnataka”. But the tweet was removed within some hours.

The sources are telling only one thing, that though the decision is final but there is no memorandum of understanding or paperwork in the witness.

Since India is one of the major and mushrooming market for Apple, the company has shown all its ardour to set up the market in the country.

After having numerous discussions and meetings, the tech giant quite appreciated the fine dialogue exchange they had with Indian officials and are excited to move forward with the decisions.

Also, the IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad promptly mentioned that they have been considering Apple’s request to set up in India and will probably take it forward with an “open mind”.

The state government also said, “it was committed to new initiatives in any sector for manufacturing and will provide a conducive environment for investment.”
