Karun Nair Conformed To Exclusive 300 Score Club Becoming Second Indian Test Triple Centurion

On Monday, the new comer Karnataka batsman, Karun Nair joined the exclusive 300 club and became the second Indian to touch the shores of triple-century squad in test matches. Unlike his previous two tests, he scored top-notch of 303 and contributed in composing India’s highest score in test matches, a giant account of 759/7 at MA Chidambram Stadium situated in Chennai.

At his tyro age of 25, Nair managed to outdistance the Sehwag’s triple century of test. Sehwag too was 25 years old when he had scored exemplary 309 in India-Pakistan series in Multan.

The last high of Indian Cricket Team in Test Cricket was 726/9 against Sri Lanka played in Mumbai in 2009. During that Test match Sehwag was steps behind making India’s third triple century with 293 runs but contributed heavily in making India win with being in top in ICC Test Championship. The day four of India-England test series was full of Nair’s individual milestones, and also included reminiscent of Sehwag going for 300 and India making touching the top notch of scores.

His other landmarks include converting a maiden test hundred into a 300 which makes him first Asian batsman who scored highest in maiden Test century.

Nair had played two ODIs before it and got this chance to mingle into the squad of Test because Shikhar Dhawan was not able to participate because of his minor left thumb fracture. He had scored 4 and 17 in previous matches. While playing this exemplary performance of his career, Nair scored 161 during the fourth wicket (KL Rahul) and sixth wicket 181 during the sixth wicket (R Ashwin).

After Nair gathered all the applauses for making 303, Virat Kohli followed the lead and declared India’s innings. So, this series gave a milestone of his career to Nair and new leading score to India.
