Kejriwal and 5 AAP Leaders to appear before Court for defamation case filed by Jaitley

Chief Minister of New Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal along with five other leaders of the AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) will show before a court in Delhi on 07th April 2016 under a criminal defamation case as filed by Arun Jaitley, the Union Finance Minister. These five other leaders of AAP include Kumar Vishwas, Raghav Chadha, Ashutosh, Sanjay Singh and Deepak Bajpai.

After the case filed by the finance minister, the court has charged the accused of alleged offences under the IPC (Indian penal Code) section 500 of criminal defamation and also section 34 of common intention. Arun Jaitley initially said that these five AAP leaders along with the Delhi CM has made offensive and insulting statements against him and his family too which in turn had tarnished his images in public.

Also, Jaitley clarified that Arvind Kejriwal’s statement of him being involved in receiving money while the famous Ferozshah Kotla Cricket Stadium was being constructed in the capital Delhi was absolutely false and said that these are merely defamatory statements.
