Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt to share screen after 25 years in Karan Johar’s Kalank

Filmmaker Karan Johar has done something unexpected as he is bringing back the iconic Bollywood couple of 1990’s Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt back on the silver screen in his next period drama Kalank. This duo will be seen together almost after 25 years of gap. The couple was the talk of the town not only for their movies but also for their alleged relationship.

Karan Johar has confirmed this news on his Twitter handle today’s morning. It reads,

Story of Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt
These two superstars of 1990’s were in alleged relationship. Their love story had become the cover story for many magazines before and after the release of their film Saajan in 1991. Sanjay and Madhuri had worked in many films like Khatron Ke Khiladi,Thanedaar, Saajan, Khalnayak, Sahibaan and Mahaanta etc.

That was the time when Madhuri talked fondly about Dutt in her interviews. Although noone ever said anything openly but their attraction for each other can be felt from their behavior. It was also believed that the two would get married. This relationship was not taking any further shape due to Dutt’s marriage. After Sanjay Dutt’s involvement in illegal possession of arms in 1993 Mumbai serial blast, Madhuri decided to entirely dissociate herself from Sanjay.

Karan Johar’s dream Project
Calling film Kalank his dream project, Karan Johar shared that the movie was conceptualised by him and his late father Yash Johar fifteen years ago. It was a gem idea. The movie would be an emotional journey for him. The movie is an epic drama set in the period of 1940s. The movie will be directed by 2 States fame director Abhishek Varman, written by Shibani Bathija and will be screenplay by Abhishek.

Undoubtedly, KJo’s movies are always starry affair. In this movie also, he has Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sonakshi Sinha. The shooting will begin by the end of this month and will hit the theatres next year on April 19.
