Mahira Khan was trolled not only for her smoking but also for wearing short dress. During that incident, many actors came in support of this Pakistani actress but she herself decided to remain quiet. As the song of her upcoming movie Verna was to be released so she decided to share her sentiments. She also shared that she was waiting for the right time.
She says, “Thankfully, ‘Power Di Game’ was ready to be released, which I thought was perfect timing, so I just posted that as sort of a response to the trolls. But to be honest, I understand where all the criticism came from and it didn’t come from a place of hate. I’m not talking about the trolls but those who were genuinely disappointed to see those pictures. It’s the same disappointment that my nani or my mamoo would have felt seeing that. So even now when I meet an older lady who says that she didn’t like the pictures, I’m quick to apologize.”
Later she shared that she knew that she is a role model in Pakistan but she also commits mistakes like any other human being. She also expressed her delight that Pakistani people also stood for her and she was also happy to be part of Pakistan’s narrative.
