Maruti Suzuki Vitara Becomes “Car of the year” Selling 83,000 Units

On Wednesday, Indian car giant Maruti Suzuki remarked that SUV Vitara Brezza has touched the high selling points with selling nearly 83,000 units. The car launched in March month of this year and has won “Indian Car of the year 2017” prize.

In a statement, company mentioned that, “Vitara Brezza has sold nearly 83,000 units since its launch in March 2016, making it one of India’s top 10 selling models and propelling Maruti Suzuki to the leadership position in the utility vehicle space as well”.

Vitara Brezza has been declared, “Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) 2017” by consortium of top 15 auto journalists. The car outdistanced Hyundai Tucson and Toyota Innova Crysta in the competition.

Kenichi Ayukawa, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Maruti Suzuki said, “Designed and developed by a team of Maruti Suzuki engineers, using Suzuki core technology, engine and platform, Vitara Brezza is heralded as an example of ‘Create in India’”.

He also added, ” It has brought us the leadership position in the SUV segment”.

The car has exemplary design with decent price slab. The ex-showroom diesel variant fall between 7-7.5 lakh. Also, red colour lovers have a chance to cheer because the car has many colour variants and red is most vibrant among them. The vehicle has maximum power of 88.5bhp@4000rpm and has maximum torque of 200Nm@1750rpm.

Like most of the compact SUVs falling under this range, Vitara also has FWD drive. Apart from that, base model comes equipped with power steering, Bluetooth connectivity. Also, central locking and driver airbag are another comforts. Crash sensors, child safety locks, Engine immobilizer and front and side impact beams are another perks which adds into the cost of the vehicle. The company is giving 2 years warranty with the car.

The car has 1248 cc displacement engine and comes in diesel variant only.
