#MeToo: Who has levelled allegations against whom?

What started out from Tanushree Dutta, has spread like wildfire across the country. It first hit Bollywood and now it’s in the journalism industry.

The celebrated journalist named MJ Akbar was allegedly accused of sexual misconduct by journalist Priya Ramani. In response, Akbar refuted the allegations and instead filed a criminal defamation case against her. He said that Priya was doing this for harming his reputation. He also pointed out that why is this drama happening just before the elections.

Here is what Priya shared on her social media:

Next is Chitrangada Shekhawat, who added to the #Metoo stories. She also, as a by-product revealed why she had to leave Nawazzudin Siddique starrer Babumoshai Bandookbaaz. It was on the sets when director Kushan asked her to remove her sari, lay down on Siddique and rub herself against him. She left the sets and was termed as “moody” and “troublesome”.

Another woman who mustered up the courage to share her story with the world was Salman Khan’s ex Somy Ali. Although she stays in the USA in the present times, she has been a former Bollywood actress.

This is what she said in her Instagram post: “As a survivor of sexual abuse at the age of 5 and rape at 14, I would like to salute all those that have spoken up and plan on doing so. I know it is very difficult to do it because I have been there and it took me many years to be able to talk about it. It takes immense amount of courage to share this with the world. It’s even harder when you tell those that are close to you and they are supposed to protect you, yet they do nothing. I have been there too and it hurts like hell. But I want these survivors to know it is truly liberating and completely worth it. Do not let the nonbelievers stop you. This is your truth. Do not ever be afraid to speak your truth. Do not let this opportunity pass you. This is a moment that has been long overdue for all of us. This is your chance to be heard and finally obtain justice. I believe you,” she wrote.

Four journalists namely Karishma Upadhyay, actors Rachel White & Simran Soni and assistant director Saloni Chopra have accused Sajid of sexual harassment and inappropriate behaviour. While all his colleagues are expressing their shock to know about his behaviour, Dia Mirza has an important thing to say. Here’s what she said: “We often brush off certain kind of behaviour. But I wouldn’t have imagined that Sajid could be capable of doing this to a woman. I completely understand the shock people are feeling right now, but it would be unfair to say that the names that are coming out is shocking.”

“Sajid Khan’s behaviour was obnxious and sexist,” Diya added.

Next is Vikas Bahl who was accused by Kangana Ranaut. She said he’s bury his face in her neck and hold her tight. Another A-lister who became the recipient of the complaint is singer Kailash Kher.
