MJSA: A complete Jal Kranti with its 10 facts and latest success stories

Vasundhara Raje

According to a recent report by World Bank, the year 2020 will be a time till when many Indian cities will turn dry. Being known as the desert state of India, it is natural for Rajasthan to be an example of the exact same dry conditions World Bank has been talking about. Because for a state which has witnessed drought like conditions for majority of India’s time post-independence and which has 19 out of its 33 districts facing water problems, Mukhyamantri Jal Swavlamban Yojna is like the best well thought of gift till now.

Mukhyamantri Jal Swavlamban Yojna is a water revolution scheme which has aimed to satisfy water requirements of country’s largest state and to make it aqua-sustainable. It is quite evident that for Rajasthan the need of the hour is nothing but water, its conservation, harvesting and preservation and only with this triad on which MJSA works, the state can get rid of the prevalent water crises. We witnessed how more than 6 months back, under the guiding force and initiation of Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, Mukhyamantri Jal Swavlamban Yojna began its journey from 27th January, 2016.

Be it through application of waste water management or rooftop rainwater harvesting, Mukhyamantri Jal Swavlamban Yojna has a clear mission to replenish water needs of both rural and urban base by making them self-sufficient to fight drought like situations. To make this possible, MJSA has been made and planned with public participation and contribution in mind. It is a fact that only when people will realize the importance of water and its conservation, only then can every effort by MJSA  be made to bear successful fruits. Fortunately, citizens of Rajasthan have understood what their chief minister has planned for their issues related to water and with subsequent contribution by everyone; first phase of MJSA campaign has witnessed positive results.

Let us take this 6 month milestone of Mukhyamantri Jal Swavlamban Yojna as the best opportunity to congratulate CM Vasundhara Raje and her team for every new MJSA Success Story that comes in just to prove that Rajasthan is moving on a path where it won’t be referred as the driest state in the future.
