Although the geography of the valley has made it impossible to reach out directly, as roads are covered with heavy fog and it turns dark very early, tourists can book a full vehicle or a shared cab from state capital Gangtok, which is 125 Kms from Yumthang Valley nearly two hours drive.

Nohkalikai Falls, Cherrapunji

Nohkalikai Falls is the highest plunge waterfall of India, which is 1114 ft high. The waterfall is situated near Cherrapunji – located in East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, India. It is one the wettest place of the country as well as the globe. Name of the waterfall is commonly related with ‘Ka Likai’, ‘Ka’ is the prefix given to female in Khasi language and ‘Likai’ is a woman who jumped off the cliff next to waterfall.

Drang – Drung Glacier, Kargil

It is the largest glacier of Ladakh, which has a length of 23 kilometers (max), located at an elevation of 15680 ft above sea level. The place is situated 142 Km south of Kargil and 331 Km from east of Srinagar – capital of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Drang – Drung Glacier is accessible from Srinagar and Srinagar Airport in two days. Road Transports such as a bus or cars available in Srinagar. However, the roads are open to traffic from May to September due to heavy snowfall at Zojila and Pensi La. The best time to visit starts from July and ends in August.
