MS Dhoni again makes record with maximum number of stumpings in Twenty20 Internationals

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is unbeatable. The Captain Cool Dhoni recently made one more achievement. This 37-year old Indian wicket-keeper made the record of affecting the maximum number of stumpings in Twenty20 Internationals. With this achievement, one more feather is added to his illustrious cap. During the first match of T20I of three-match series against England at Old Trafford in Manchester, Dhoni made 33 stumps. With this, he broke the T20I Stumping record of Pakistan’s Kamran Akmal.

Before T20I, Dhoni was at 31 stumpings putting him in the second position. He was behind Pakistan’s Kamran Akmal record. Well… within very less time MS Dhoni took up the first position in highest stumping record in Twenty20 Internationals. He took 91 matches to go on top of the tally.

Know the current Stumping Tally
Now, Pakistan’s Kamran Akmal is at the second position with 32 stumpings. He is followed by Afghanistan’s Mohammad Shahzad (28 stumpings) at third. On the fourth and fifth position, there are Bangladesh’s Mushfiqur Rahim with 26 victims and Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara (20 stumpings) respectively.

Stumping record is not just the beginning as the former Indian cricket team captain also holds the record of most catches as a wicket-keeper in T20Is. In this shortest format of the game, Dhoni took 49 catches while Dinesh Ramdin (West Indies) is on second with 34 catches. In terms of ODI catches, he is on the fourth position with 297 catches. The ODI’s list is ruled by Australia’s Adam Gilchrist (417).Talking about stumps in ODI, he again dominates the list. Dhoni has inflicted 107 stumpings in his 318-ODI career.
