Forbes list is out and there are as many as 101 Indian billionaires who have made it to the glorious list. Mukesh Ambani is amongst the top Indian candidates on the list.

The Forbes list of the World’s Billionaires 2017 consists of 2,043 of the richest people in the world who have a combined net worth of USD 7.67 trillion, a noteworthy 18 per cent increase over the past year.

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has topped the list for the fourth consequent time. He has been the richest person in the world for 18 out of the past 23 years.

Bill Gates has a fortune of USD 86 billion, up from USD 75 billion last year, followed by Berkshire Hathaway chief Warren Buffet with a net worth of USD 75.6 billion.

Amazon’s Jeff Bezos boasts of a USD 72.8 billion fortune. US President Donald Trump is ranked 544th on the list with his net worth of USD 3.5 billion.

The US has the highest number of billionaires on it’s soil. It houses a record of 565 billionaires. China boasts of 319 billionaires while Germany stands third with114 billionaires. On the fourth position is India, with 101 billionaires in all their glory.

India is home to 101 billionaires, the first time it has has more than 100 super-rich individuals.

Mukesh Ambani, 59, leads the pack of Indian billionaires, coming in at 33rd position with a net worth of USD 23.2 billion.

Nonetheless, as destiny would have it, Mukesh Ambani’s younger brother Anil Ambani is ranked 745th with a net worth of USD 2.7 billion.

Anil awaits regulatory approvals for it’s telecom merger with Idea cellular. Notably, the merger will result in making the Aircel country’s fourth-largest mobile phone operator,” Forbes said.

UK-based Hinduja brothers has been ranked 64th with USD 15.4 billion net worth, followed by engineering giant Shapoorji Pallonji Group. This group is helmed by Indian-born tycoon Pallonji Mistry who secures the 77th spot with USD 14.3 billion net worth.
