Navy Chief indicates towards same rank in all the three armies of the country and major changes.

Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar on Saturday said that the Indian Navy has told the government that it will become ‘self-reliant’ by 2047.

He also said at a press conference on Navy Day that the Navy closely monitors the movement of various military and exploration ships of China in the Indian Ocean region.

Kumar said that the Indian Navy has achieved very high operational capability in the last one year and the importance of maritime security is being given more emphasis.

The Navy Chief said, “The government has given us clear guidelines on self-reliant India. We have told that the Indian Navy will become self-sufficient by 2047.

Admiral R Hari Kumar also said that in terms of operational capability, the last one year has been a very busy time for us. He said that induction of aircraft carrier INS Vikrant into the Navy is a historic event for India. He said the Navy aims to achieve ‘Make in India’ security solutions for the country. He said that about 3,000 Agniveers have reached the Navy out of which 341 are women. The Navy chief said that for the first time “we are inducting women sailors into the Navy”.
