Nitin Gadkari says “Must for public buses to have panic button, CCTV cameras”

It has been high time that women safety should be given the foremost attention in any way possible. Mainly because of the earlier times when the way Indian females were brought up within an environment where being ABLA was the domination they had to pin onto themselves.  The males then automatically were backfired with protecting the females they think are wholly dependent on them. It’s not that this is the only reason why women should be protected because in this current century the way womanhood is progressing, a day will come when men would need their protection. But until then, trying to make this nation a better and safer place to live, especially for women is what every person should strive for.

Nitin Gadkari, the Road Transport and Highways Minister, recently gave out orders, during an event at Bikaner House in Delhi where he inaugurated 20 new buses for Rajasthan, that “It will soon be mandatory for public transport buses to install emergency buttons, CCTV cameras and vehicle tracking devices to ensure the safety of women commuters.” Those 20 announced buses are a part of Mahila Gaurav Express pilot project. These buses would run between Delhi and Rajasthan. As the Rajasthan government plans to eventually bring over 2,300 more buses under the project’s domain.

To this he also included that, “The government will issue a notification on June 2, laying down the safety measures to be installed in public transport buses across the country.”

Because the Nitin Gadkari as a responsible minister knows that “To ensure safety of women after the unfortunate Nirbhaya incident, is it important to make it mandatory for public transport buses to install emergency panic buttons, CCTV cameras and GPS-enabled vehicle tracking devices.”

As far as the panic button is concerned the details are as follows: The panic button which is also connected to the government’s women’s helpline number, when pressed, will automatically send a signal to Depot Chief Manager’s phone at Jaipur’s Control room with the details of the vehicle and live video feed. It will hand to hand alert the nearest police control room.
