Nitin Gadkari, a union minister whose persistent bluntness appears to have cost him his place in the BJP’s highest decision-making body, has launched a new zinger. At a gathering on Sunday, Mr. Gadkari stated that the government is “not taking choices in time” and that this is a concern.

“You can perform miracles, and the possibility exists…

I believe that India’s infrastructure has a very promising future. Accepting good technology, good innovation, good research, and effective national and global practises is necessary. Alternative materials should be available so that we can save prices without sacrificing quality. The most crucial factor in building is time. The largest capital is time. The government’s inability to make decisions is the main issue.

Speaking at NATCON 2022, a conference put on by the Association of Consulting Civil Engineers, Mumbai, he asserted that time is “more important than technology or resources.”

The statements made by Mr. Gadkari and the recent remarks made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who highlighted the achievements of his administration in what he refers to as the “Amrit Kaal,” or golden age, have a discrepancy.

However, BJP leaders claim that Mr. Gadkari’s comments were directed at all governments, not just one in particular.

Mr. Gadkari was removed from the influential BJP parliamentary board last week as part of a reorganisation aimed at upcoming elections, including the 2024 presidential race.

Given that former chiefs have always been on the council, Mr. Gadkari’s resignation as president of the BJP was all the more unexpected. Additionally, Mr. Gadkari has previously gotten away with making personal jabs at himself because he is connected to the party’s ideological tutor, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

Mr. Gadkari was cited as saying that he occasionally considered leaving politics and that today’s politics was more about powerplay at a recent event in Nagpur.

After saying that decisions take time, Mr. Gadkari remarked in Nagpur that Mr. Vajpayee, LK Advani, and Deendayal Upadhyaya were responsible for the BJP’s ascent to power.
