No signs of Peace in Kashmir: PM holds Meeting

Soon after Prime Minister lands from his Africa tour, the situation of Kashmir caught him and the disturbed peace situation which continues even on the 4th day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has headed towards holding a high-level ministerial meeting to discuss the struggling situation in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The situation in the valley got tensed after the killing of Hizbul Mujahedeen militant Burhan Muzaffar Wani. There has been a curfew in the state from past four days so as to handle the chaotic situation but the things haven’t been calm till the date. For this reason, the prime minister, Narendra Modi has to hold an underway meeting at 7Race Course Road. The meeting is aimed to discuss the preventive measures to curb the widespread violence in the Kashmir Valley. The senior leaders including the Home minister Rajnath Singh, finance minister Arun Jaitley, foreign minister Sushma Swaraj, defense minister Manohar Parrikar, NSA Ajit Doval, foreign secretary S Jaishankar and other officials have attended the meeting to examine the incidence and all the following matter. The worst violence in the valley has taken 24 lives in the recent years, which is also a matter of serious consideration. The clashes between the military forces and the protestors are not ending which is creating chaos among the common man and also hindering the regular life of the masses.

Also, the matter of security of all the pilgrims of Amarnath is a matter of discussion for the leaders. Hence, in view of the present situation, the home minister Rajnath Singh has canceled his US trip where he was to attend the Indo-US Homeland Security Dialogue in Washington scheduled for next week. A delegation of Kashmir based imams has met Rajnath Singh to elaborate the situation in J&K. NSA Ajit Doval, who was with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his Africa trip, cut short his visit and have returned to the national capital on Monday, confident that solutions to the unrest will soon be arrived at.
