It is less than four months that OnePlus has announced third device in Smartphone category, named as OnePlus X on 30th October, Vikas Agrawal, general manager, OnePlus also indicated that OnePlus X will be the first device from ‘Make in India’ tie-up with Foxxcon. This phone would be targeting the customer looking to buy Smartphone in price range of Rs.20000.

Yet again company has come up with an attractive spec, but focus is more towards premium feel and gratify 5-inch segment.

Vikas in his interaction with Indian Express said “Make in India is very crucial for us. We are starting it within a year. We are going to start production before the end of this year. The first device will be the OnePlus X. Going forward we will introduce more ‘Made in India’ Smartphones.”

Vikas however, have completely declined company’s prospect of entering into wearable segments, but indicated that will be expanding horizon in mobile phones. In addition to this Vikas added that company is looking to reach more and more customers.

He said “We are a smartphone brand and will like to remain so. We are a small player in the market and we cannot afford to lose focus. For me, the biggest challenge is to take OnePlus to more people in India.”

Agrawal says that ‘make in India’ will help company in boosting their supplies, as products are already priced competitively, whereas Oneplus will assemble its phone in India, apart from this company is looking ahead of localizing software for its phones, along with R&D in the local market.

The target for this year is a million units for OnePlus One, OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X combined in India. Before last quarter we sold more than 300,000 units. Company although missed out target due to short supply enough OnePlus 2 units this year. However, are determined that will not miss the mark by much.
