Patanjali’s Baba Ramdev launches Kimbho app; It’s a competition to WhatsApp

Yoga guru Baba Ramdev has turned out to be a tough competition to several big companies. After its immense success in FMCG sector, Patanjali’s Ramdev  is ready to take on technology also. Well… it was least expected from him. On Wednesday, the launch of a messaging app called Kimbho has been done. This has been informed by Patanjali’s spokesperson SK Tijarawala through a tweet. Why is this new app being launched?
Patanjali’s messaging application has been featured into market after Ramdev announced a tie-up with BSNL to provide employees of Patanjali with a special SIM card, featuring low-cost talk plans. The messaging app is listed on both Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.

Details about Kimbho App
Talking about Kimbjo app, it caters to private and group chats with free phone and video calling. It also offers dozens of features to share text, audio, photos, videos, stickers, quickies, location, GIFs and doodle. It also allows users to follow their favourite celebrity on the app.

It is a Sanskrit word. When it comes to meaning of Kimbho, it means “How are you?”. The tagline of the app says: ‘Ab Bharat Bolega (Now India will speak)’. Being promoted as #SwadeshiMessagingplatform, it is supposed to compete with WhatsApp. This newly launched app is already up and live on Android Play Store and has already received over 10,000 downloads.

According to Baba Ramdev, these initiatives are part of his ‘swadeshi’ mission to promote indigenous products.
