Phillauri: Anushka Sharma, Diljit Dosanjh, Suraj Sharma tickle your funnybones; cast love spells

If you are an Anushka Sharma’s fan, your unrelentless speculation has finally come to an end. The much awaited trailer of Anushka Sharma’s latest production venture Phillauri is finally out and it promises for unabashed entertainment.

Anushka Sharma has proved her worth time and again. She is all quirky, gritty and eccentric. She is one of those actresses who can play a playful, carefree girl at 2:20 and then get into the skin of a super-emotional character at 2:21. My point can be validated by the awe-inspiring performance which the PK actress delivered in Karan Johar’s hit flick “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil”.

If you have seen Anushka Sharma’s production debut film ‘NH10’, you know she is not a cookie-cutter. Something substantial and concrete is always a takeaway from her film. Her film choices showcase her grit and acumen as far as the Bollywood facet is concerned. Phillauri, being the second outing of Anushka’s production house seems high on energy and content, and we are all eyes.

Dispalying stories from two different eras, the fun tale stares Anushka Sharma (Shashi) in the lead, who portays a diachotomy of roles. In the first half, she will be seen as playing a ghost who is in search of her lover (Diljit Dosanjh). In the second half, her love story with Diljit starts to capture the hearts of all. And all this, so effortlessly.

Diljit is a dapper man whose impeccable eyes just speak for themselves. His presence leaves women wanting for more. And this trailer is no exception. And eh! Hang on. The hotness quotient doesn’t end here. The film also features Life Of Pi star Suraj Sharma who plays a ‘Manglik‘ boy who is all chubby and gullible.

The 2-minute-55-second long trailer starts off with Suraj Sharma being asked to marry a tree since he is a ‘maanglik’. Subsequently, he is apparently dragged into believing that she is married to Shashi, after Suraj marries a tree on which resides Shashi, who haunts the sweet Maanglik and follows him to every nook and corner.

The love line of Diljit Dosanjh and Anushka Sharma is ultra charming and captivating. Nonetheless, it is Anushka who steals the show as the friendly ghost while delivering light punches to crack up the audience time at short intervals.

The trailer promises an eye-popping climax with Diljit Dosanjh mellifluous songs engendering feelings blended with subtle melancholy and unconditional love. A meaningful tale woven with love and laugher, Phillauri is a movie to watch out for this summers.

Extensively shot in parts of Punjab, the film boasts of a fat Punjabi wedding to look out for. Directed by Anshai Lal, the comedy-drama is slated to release on March 24.
