The foundation stone for a new AIIMS in India is going to be laid upon by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh on October 3. The revelation was made through an official statement by Union Minister Shri J P Nadda, who expressed deep gratitude to the PM for sanctioning AIIMS Bilaspur project.
As per the Union Health Minister, AIIMS Bilaspur is going to be yet another milestone in the list of achievements of National Democratic Alliance government in the health sector. Further, he also stated that the new proposed AIIMS at Bilaspur would aid in providing the much needed tertiary medical services to a vast population, not only in Himachal Pradesh but other northern states as well.
Shri Nadda stated-
“Health forms a very crucial peg in the development story of any state, and with a pragmatic and progressive leader such as the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji, the health sector of Himachal Pradesh is greatly benefitted. AIIMS Bilaspur, with its multiple disciplines, will herald the hilly state towards comprehensive development and growth.”
Hailing the decision, local Member of Parliament Shri Anurag Thakur was quoted as saying: “This (AIIMS) will prove to be a boon for the residents as they will get world-class medical facilities in their vicinity.” He also thanked Sri Nadda for finalizing the piece of land that will give way to a timely foundation of the project.
The addition of this new AIIMS facility in Kothipura village is an effort towards a progressive and healthy society. Apart from improving the health conditions of the public, it will hopefully help overcome the challenges posed by the inadequacy of superior medical amenities.
