PM Modi on two-day visit to Nepal; Begins with special prayers At Janakpur Temple

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Nepal today for a two-day state visit. He has been invited by Nepalese Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli. It is the third visit of Modi to Nepal as Prime Minister. PM also said that his visit to Nepal is the reflection of Indian government’s “neighbourhood first” policy. He also said that India will continue to support Nepal in vision of ‘samriddha Nepal, sukhi Nepali.’ Get the details about his visit.

In the morning, his plane landed at town Janakpur, 225 km from capital Kathmandu. Nepalese PM KP Oli received him. He offered prayers at Ram Janki Temple in Janakpur.

PM Modi has a long agenda for Nepal visit. He will meet Nepalese President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun in Kathmandu. In the evening, he will hold delegation-level talks with Oli. The meeting may lead to signing various pacts. PM Modi will visit famous Pashupatinath temple in Kathmandu.

India and Nepal will work towards building ‘Ramayan’ circuit between both the countries. It will connect Janakpur, Goddess Sita’s birthplace to Ayodhya, Lord Rama’s bithplace. This will act as foundation for strong people to people contact between the two nations.

He will inaugurate Rs. 6000-crore Arun 3 hydroelectricity project via video conferencing. This project is expected to generate around 900 MW of power.

At the Muktinath temple, situated on the foothills of the Thorong La mountain pass, Modi will offer prayers . He is expected to announce a “surprise gift” for its development.
