PM Modi says ‘Digital India’ eliminated middlemen, empowered citizens

The efforts and vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for Digital India have really brought changes in India. There are various flagship programme started under Digital India initiative. The success of Digital India flagship programme made PM extremely delighted. He said this initiative has empowered citizens by eliminating middlemen. PM shared all this via NaMo App. Know more.

PM Modi interacts with the beneficiaries of the flagship scheme across India via his App. It was the fourth time PM outreached the beneficiaries of schemes through video conferencing. He also mentioned the focus behind the launch of Digital India i.e. to make people enjoy the benefits of technology, especially in rural area. He also ensured that benefits of technology are for all sections of society. For this, the network of Computer Science Corporations has been strengthened.

Benefits of Digital India shared by PM
Narendra Modi also stated the initiative has brought in a movement towards more digital payments. People feel convenience as railway tickets can be booked online and bills can be paid online. The scheme has proved to be effective for bringing digital transformation in rural areas.

Other things shared by PM
PM also talked about North East BPO Promotion Scheme (NEBPS) which is meant to incentivize establishment of 5000 seats in respect of BPO/ITES operations in North Eastern Region. He said that employment is being provided to youth not only in cities but also in the North East. Due to separate BPO promotion scheme for the North East, new job opportunities relating to technology sector are being created.

Digital India has promoted the four Es – Education, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Empowerment. The event was streamed on social media site Facebook.
