PM Narendra Modi’s China Visit: Walk, Boat Ride Day 2 Get Personal

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping walked together at the picturesque East Lake here on Saturday morning.

On the second of the informal summit, the two leaders were seen actively engaging with each other, Modi and Xi resumed their one-on-one talks with a walk around the famous East Lake for half an hour. They also witnessed a traditional tea ceremony during their lakeside walk.The two leader was also seen riding on a houseboat and chatting over tea- a “Chai pe Charcha” movement.

 



In the course of his 24 hour stay in Wuhan, PM Modi has struck, a warm and friendly rapport with Xi Jinping through intimate conversations, a visit Hubei Provincial Museum and a lavish banquet dinner where Chinese musicians serenaded the two leaders with an instrumental rendition of the classic Hindi song “Tu,tu hai wahi dill ne jise apna kaha”.


PM Modi later said “ I am very pleased to meet with President Xi Jinping in Wuhan. We conducted an extensive and fruitful talk and exchanged opinions on strengthening India-China relations and other international issues ”.

Today a private lunch hosted by the Chinese President, the idea of this summit is to open strategic communication channel at the highest level. PM Modi will depart for India on Saturday.

Last time these two Asian giants met in BRICS summit in Goa when President Xi Jinping visited in India. The following year PM Modi visited China to participate in G20 summit in Hangzhou.
