PM Narendra Modi announces Summer internship under Swachh Bharat; Know more

With the aim to link youth of India with ‘Swachh Bharat Summer Internship 2018‘, PM Narendra Modi announced the launch of special summer internship by government. This internship is linked to the Swachh Bharat (Clean India) campaign. He urged the youth during monthly ‘Mann ki Baat’ broadcast. PM wants the students to make better use of their summer vacations.

He urged the college students, NCC and NSS youth, students of Nehru Yuva Kendra to come forward and contribute towards the welfare of society. Modi also asked for water conservation, calling it everyone’s responsibility. He said that government spent a huge amount on it outside the MNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) budget. He also talked about topics like achievements of Indian athletes’ in the Commonwealth Games especially women’s achievement, people’s response to his call for fitness and also paid tributes to Prophet Mohammad and Lord Buddha. He also asked people to think about ways to make the Yoga Day on June 21 memorable.

Details about internship program
Under this, the students will have to work for 100 hours between May 1 and July 31. They have to adopt one or more villages and conduct activities of their choice to contribute to the cause of rural sanitation in India. College or university of the student will be responsible for organizing the logistics for the activities.

Benefits of doing this summer internship
PM Modi calls this internship a chance to contribute to society. This will help the students to do something for society along with getting incentives. The best work will get national recognition. The students will also get the credit point by the UGC.
