Amidst the hectic schedule of Gujarat election campaigns, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi flew to New Delhi from Vadodara to wish his mother Sonia Gandhi on her birthday. Although it’s going to be a short stay for the Gandhi scion, he made sure to take his mother’s blessings on this special day.
Congress President Sonia Gandhi was born on 9th December 1946 in Italy. She took over as the Party President in 1998 and has remained in the office since then. It has been a long duration of 19 years since Sonia has been taking care of Congress Party with full dedication.
However, lately, she has been less active in the rallies as his son Rahul Gandhi is all set to embark his political journey as the new Chief. Although Sonia Gandhi was not present in any of the Gujarat rallies, she was seen in a party meeting when Rahul had filed nominations for the post of Congress President.
As per the speculated reports, Rahul is set to begin his tour of north Gujarat where the second phase of elections will take place on December 14 while the results will be declared by December 18.
One of the regions where Congress will be rallying is Vadnagar, which also happens to be the hometown of PM Modi. Other gatherings are likely to take place in Patan’s Harji, Mehsana’s Vijapur, and Banaskantha’s Kanodar. On the other hand, PM Modi will address rallies in Bodeli, Anand, Lunawada, and Mehsana.
