The much-anticipated budget is here! As expected, CM Vasundhara Raje has made a plethora of schemes and announcements for the state. This year, Rajasthan Budget 2017 is based on three fundamental pillars of development—good governance, social justice, women and youth empowerment.
In case you don’t have a clue about Budget 2017, here’s a summary of all important announcements.

  1. Raje Invests in Roads to Boost Connectivity

Rajasthan to get: 26 new roads in mining areas, 796 state highways, 5000 new roads and missing links will be constructed in 2000 village panchayts under Gramin Gaurav Path Yojana (at the Cost of Rs. 1200 crore).

  1. Safe Drinking Water will Resolve Water Issues in 2500 Villages

1483 New RO plants in districts/villages receiving brackish water, Dam projects in Rajasthan: Jakham, Chakhan & Boondi cluster scheme, 24×7 supply of drinking water in Kota, revamping of water supply structures.

  1. Electricity Connections & New Plants For Enhanced Power Capacity

What’s Beneficial? 1 lakh new power connections to farmers, new power plants with the following capacities: 2 GSS of 400 KV, 6 GSS of 220 KV, 15 GSS of 132 KV, 200 GSS of 33 KV

  1. Renovation, Digitisation & Renewal of Tourism Hotspots

Rs 158.63 crores allotted to archaeology, culture and art departments for conservation, beautification & Rs 36 crore allotted for improvement of basic infrastructure. Digitisation of rare documents, new Panorama spots worth 11 crores, restoration of Chittaurgarh & Fateh Vilas Fort.

  1. Raje will Boost Basic Infrastructure to Enhance Aesthetic Value

190 cities with Wi-Fi facilities, villages with total population over 5,000 will be developed as smart villages, Tourism packages for 20,000 senior citizens, Free air pilgrimage for 5000 elders under Deen Dayal Upadhyay Senior Citizens Pilgrims Scheme, Cyber forensic cell at every divisional headquarter.

  1. Religious Sites will receive Double the Funds

Development work at Ganga Mandir, Bihari ji ka Mandir, Bharatpur Temple, Keshorai Temple, Keshoraipatan & Surya Temple.

  1. Air Connectivity for Swift Transportation

Rs 16 crores sanctioned to renovation of airstrips, Air Transport, Kota, Ajmer and Sawaimadhopur will be connected to Jaipur by air service, Air travel will be cheaper.

  1. Park, Forest & Environment will be Digitised

Development of Akal Wood Fossil Park and Desert National Park, IT security system at Ranthambore, Sariska , Jawai, Mukundra, Jhalana Reserves, Eco-Tourism for Mount Abu, Caustic Soda Recovery Plants.

  1. Industries: Subsidies, Relaxation and Entrepreneurship opportunities

Entrepreneur centers to be set up at Vardhaman University and Jai Narayan Vyas University, All services linked under a single window system, Relaxation for experience and turnover in MSMEs for young entrepreneurs, all entrepreneurship services will be made online.

  1. E-Auction of Mines

Allotment of ERCC, RCC and mines through e-auctions.

  1. Cooperative Society Loans.

Interest subsidy for crop loans, Annapurna Bhandars in each district and division.

  1. Opportunities in Animal Husbandry

Milkotester will be distributed to remaining registered women milk cooperatives, Establishment of Fish Brood Bank at Gambhiri Dam (District Chiitorgarh), New veterinary centres in villages.

  1. Agricultural Facilities will Relieve Farmers

GRAM will be organised at district level, Mukhaya Mantri Beej Swavlamban Yojana  for seed distribution, 1 lakh farmers will get soil health card, Under the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme, insurance of 53 lac farmers 73 lac hactare area in Kharif and 30 lac farmers 29 lac hactare area.

  1. Women Empowerment

Defence training for 3 lakh 60 thousand girls, Double Incentives for women under Sahyog & Upahar yojana, New one stop crisis management centres in various villages and districts, Financial support (Rs. 50000) to specially-abled couples under “Sukhad Dampatya Jeevan Yojana”, Scooty for girls who score over 90%.

  1. Education, Sports, Skill Development, Employment For Youth

New Engineering colleges in Karauli and Bharatpur, Block headquarters will be connected by fibre broadbands, skill development training for 8 lakh people, New sports policy will be released, Football in Kota, wrestling in Bharatpur, Cycling in Bikaner and Volleyball in Jhunjhunu, Start-up boot clubs in 71 model school, Career Counselling for Students.

Establishment of Japan India Manufacturing Institute in Neemrana, Increased financial assistance under Akshat Yojana to the unemployed, Bio-technology and rural technology business incubation centres.

  1. Social Justice & Empowerment to Represent the Rights of All Communities

Rs 750 monthly pension to all specially-abled people irrespective of their age, Rs 5000 would be given to the voluntary organisation for the cremation of unclaimed bodies of destitute, Motorised vehicles for survivors of orthopaedic surgery, Construction of Child homes (8) and 4 new hostels under Dev Narayan Yojana.
Economical weaker students from the General Category who get admissions in medical colleges, IITs and NLUs will get Rs 25,000 scholarship. Those selected for administrative services will get Rs 50,000.

Meritorious students from EBC who rank in top 100 positions in Class X, XII board exams will get Rs 15000, Increase in financial assistance under Akshat Yojana to unemployed.

  1. Medical & Health Facilities to Shake off the ‘BIMARU’ tag

New ‘Panch Karm Center’ (for Naturopathy) at Dholpur and Jaipur and Anchal Prasuta Centre at Jaisalmer and Barmer, Breast Cancer Screening for women in 14 hospitals, Trauma centre at Jodhpur, modernized paraplegic treatment wing in Rajasthan University of Health Science, KidneyTransplant facility at Medical College, Kota, 10 shar shutra medical units,

  1. Urban Development to Improve Aesthetic Value

Annapurna Kitchen Scheme to be stated in all municipal towns, 29 AMRUT cities, Community Bathing Units for women.

  1. Extra Benefits Offered under Various Schemes.

Nyay Aapke Dwar Campaign to be continued, No change in VAT except 15% increase on tobacco products, 5500 new police constable will be recruited.  Accredited journalists to get enhanced rate of Rs. 5000 p.a. free medical facility.

  1. Stamp Duty Simplified.

Rate of stamp duty on agreements relating to advertisement for commercial purposes shall be simplified, Benefit of concession of stamp duty available on the document of release of ancestral property.
