“It’s four years of our ‘Sushaasan’ against 60 years of Misgovernance by Congress”—CM Vasundhara Raje (while inaugurating first phase of Aapka Zila Aapki Sarkaar).

Having experienced atrocities and tyranny for 90 long years during the British rule, today, India has started a new chapter in political history. An era that marks ‘Suraaj’ (good governance) and people-centric development began in Rajasthan a while back, when CM Raje led BJP government rose to power in 2013. Since then, Rajasthan has been a forerunner in skill development, education, rainwater harvesting, public distribution supply (PDS) chain, solar energy distribution and mechanized agriculture.

In a short span of four years, ‘Rajasthan’s model of development’—comparable to the famous Gujarat model, is an inspiration for other states. Out of all the radical, reformatory schemes launched by Rajasthan government, Aapka Zila Aapki Sarkar program proposed by the CM is a practical, people-centric effort made by the administrators. In the first two years of her rule, when Raje took over the Congress mantle, she launched this scheme, hoping to connect with the masses.

The idea was to visit various districts, to monitor their progress. ‘Aapka Zila Aapki Sarkaar’ made it mandatory for the government officials to inspect the ground reality of government scheme implementation in various villages, cities in districts of Rajasthan. It was launched in parallel to other potential projects like ‘Sarkaar aapke Dwar’ (government at your doorstep) and ‘Nyay aapke Dwar’ (Justice at your doorstep).

The objective behind these schemes is direct interaction with the public. The CM made an attempt to reach out to the public to understand their grievances in a better way. The first phase of this ambitious scheme was launched in Dausa, Barmer, Nagaur and Dungarpur, wherein the CM laid the foundation stone of her powerful developmental projects. The residents were invited to share their grievances and the government ordered problem redressal from concerned officials.

Needless to say, Aapka Zila Aapki Sarkaar was a huge hit in Rajasthan, with people feeling happy and content with Raje’s administration. The program received overwhelming responses in the chosen districts. Considering its huge success, now, after a period of 2 years, the government is set to launch the second phase.

Starting from 11th May, CM Vasundhara Raje will undertake a 3-day trip to Karauli where she would inspect the on-ground implementation of welfare schemes run by the government. In the light of 2018 Rajasthan state assembly elections, this scheme would not just benefit people, but also consolidate Raje’s position in Rajasthan.
