Rajasthan’s Bhamashah Yojana records DBT amount over Rs 20000 crore; Know more

It is a proud moment for Rajasthan government as its Bhamashah Yojana has turned out to be India’s largest DBT system. Under this yojana, it has recorded DBT amount of more than ₹ 20000 crore. It has financially enabled the women of the state. On this achievement, CM Raje announced it on Twitter. She also added that it realizes PM Narendra Modi’s vision of financial inclusion. Bhamashah yojana
Bhamashah yojana has come as a boon to the state of Rajasthan. This scheme was launched by Chief Minister of the state Vasundhara Raje on 15 August 2014. This scheme aimed at providing financial and non-financial benefits of governmental schemes directly to women recipients in a transparent way. This scheme showcases the government’s vision to empower every woman. Envisaged in the year 2008, the Bhamashah Scheme was thought of even before Aadhaar programme. Bhamashah is the first of its kind direct benefit transfer scheme in the country. Hence, it will lead to empowered society and empowered state.

Schemes to be covered under Bhamashah yojana
There are multiple schemes that are covered under Bhamashah yojana. Here, cash and non-cash benefits are transferred directly to the account of beneficiaries. These are PDS, Pensions, National Rural Employment Guarantee, Palanhar Scheme, Bhamashah Swasthya Bima Yojana, Janani Suraksha Yojana, Mukhyamantri Rajshree yojna and many more.

What is DBT?
DBT stands for Direct Benefit Transfer. Started on 1 January 2013, it aims at changing the mechanism of transferring subsidies launched by Government of India. By this system, subsidies will be directly transferred to the people through their bank accounts.
