Jaipur Junction, Gandhi Nagar railway station, and Ranthambore railway station are known for their hygienic surroundings and aesthetic worth. The beauty and appearance of public places and tourist destinations have a direct impact on the tourism economy of a state. Keeping this in mind, Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje and union railway minister Mr. Suresh Prabhu inaugurated new revamp projects for Jaipur railway station. The total budget for revamping the railway station in Jaipur is Rs 367 crores.

On this occasion, CM Raje flagged off new trains that are likely to connect remote destinations in Rajasthan. In last few years, the BJP government made several efforts to connect Rajasthan with premium tourist destinations via express trains. Efforts were made to expand container depot at Udaipur. Online booking/ cancellation of tickets and tour packages have digitized Indian Railways. All these efforts have influenced the growth of Rajasthan railways.

The newly-inaugurated projects will focus on important areas like tree plantation, environment conservation, bio toilets, internet connectivity and other important factors that affect the average footfall on railway stations. Major works on the department’s to-do-list include the availability of parking space, solar units for electricity production, escalators on platforms and night trains available between various junctions.

According to rail minister Suresh Prabhu, the current BJP government is investing in the beautification of railway stations all over the country. The central railway ministry is strengthening the existing rail system by electrifying 42% rail lines. The government invested 36,000 crore rupees in modernizing the age-long trains. Next, the central government will make efforts to double the number of railway lines in the remaining two years.

The key pointers related to these projects were discussed in a meeting chaired by Raje, Prabhu and other key officials of the state. CM Raje took this opportunity to appreciate Prabhu for addressing railway grievances via Twitter. Prabhu is one of those leaders who make it a point to interact with users over social media to update them on latest developments.
