Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, the real-life couple who has always been a big hit on screen might be seen together yet again in the upcoming film Simmba. Earlier, reports were doing the rounds that either Janhvi Kapoor or Sara Ali Khan might get casted against Ranveer but some fresh reports suggest that it’s going to be none other than Deepika.
If reports are to be believed, the possibility for Shradhha and Alia have already been dismissed since both the actresses refused to work with Rohit in his film Golmaal Again citing some date issues. Besides, Deepika was about to work for Prerna Arora’s untitled project with Irrfan Khan.
However since Irrfan is suffering from a “rare disease” and Deepika herself has been advised for a bed rest for a few months, the film might be pushed back. Even though Irrfan will take much more time to come back, Deepika would be able to get back to work sooner so there’s a possibility that she might consider to take up the role of the female lead in Simmba.
Media reports suggest that after completing the period drama Padmaavat, Deepika now wants to take up some light-hearted yet substantial role. She is also spending her time reading scripts while being on bed rest.
Simmba’s poster had come out in December 2017 and the film is going to hit the theatres in December 2018. While we know that Ranveer will be seen as a cop performing hardcore action sequences, the leading lady hasn’t been confirmed yet. Simmba is said to be inspired by Jr NTR’s Temper. Talking about Ranveer Singh’s upcoming projects, he is currently busy in Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy and the actor also has a Kapil Dev biopic on the cards.
