Yesterday was a breather for the Rajasthan government which was rejoicing over excellent score card of of Class XII for Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE).
State education minister Vasudev Devnani was appreciative of the students bettering record in academic studies. He also acknowledged the efforts of the teachers who should be spared from taking credit.
The RBSE board announced results are both science and commerce stream. However, results of Arts stream have not been declared yet. Reportedly, results of Arts stream will be live soon. In science, 2.34 lakh students sat for the exam while commerce had nearly 48,113 student candidates this year.
As per RBSE, only 72.42% students of government schools managed to pass in Class XII board examination result in 2014 whereas the number was 77.81% in 2015.
Nonetheless, the performance parameter shot up by approximately by four percentage points. The government school students improved well in 2016 as the pass percentage went up to 83.18% and 87.04% in this year.
Only 12,968 students (Science stream) of government schools managed to get first division in Class XII board examination, 2014 whereas the number shot up to 29,984 this year.
In case of Commerce, 85.74% students of government schools passed in 2014 that went up to 88.07% this year. Percentage of students with more than 75% marks was 3.68% in 2014 compared to 6.96% this year.
The Rajasthan board had made special provisions for candidates belonging to the Physically Handicapped category. Candidates with Albino, Myopia, Cerebral Palsy or Polio and those who are deaf and/or dumb were granted extra time to attempt the question paper. An extra time of one hour was given to these students.
