Reliance Jio earns record-breaking feat: Garners 72 million users in less than 4 months

Reliance Jio has swept away the telecom arena from ever since it has launched. What’s more interesting? Reliance Jio is only network that provides true LTE services. This service has mustered subscribers from over 72 million users in less than 4 months, which is a humunguous triumph for a novice entry in Telecom.

The Reliance company anticipated to earn 6 Lakh subscribers every day, and the result was overwhelming too. Serpentine queues similar that outside ATM’s post demonetisation were witnessed at counters which were offering Jio sims.

Airtel, India’s biggest and oldest network carrier has over 260 million users, followed by Vodafone who has over 200 million users.

Being a highly price-elastic market that India is, Jio has become the first choice for one and all. After all, who doesn’t like a free 4G data-pack, with free calling for more than 6 months.

The company had initially declared a free data pack for all customers until Dec31, but later extended the date till 31st march. This move has lured billions of customers who have now switched from their long-trusted brands to the new-entrant Jio.

There have been a plethora of bugs and glitches in the operations of Jio sims. Although customers have switched to the least-expensive data-pack, there are still a majority of people for whom calling a person of another network (say, Airtel) has been far more easy.

As Jio is an LTE-only network, it is comprehensible that in many  areas where Jio has not sdet up LTE towers, users might face a hard time calling from this network.

Impressively, Reliance Jio’s potent to gross up 72 million subscribers has been manifested. This will engender a major disruption for the existing competition.

Reliance is also expected to  launch it’s feature phones which are super-affordable and smart. After Jio, these phones are all set to disrupt the feature phone market. What a benison for a common man, Reliance will sell these phones around a range of Rs. 1000-2000 only. No doubt, this will enable Reliance to capture the Indian telecom space altogether.
