Renault Kwid Completes Its Mammoth Road Trip From Delhi To Paris

Renault Kwid recently had its hosanna moment when it completed its ride from Delhi to Paris on its first anniversary. On completion of one year of its service, Renault Kwid donned bohemia spirit and covered 13 countries during this ride. The car had also completed a trip from India to Cambodia which emboldened it take chances for an another mammoth trip. This road trip was 18,996kms long and went under all extreme climate conditions. Starting from India Gate point at a temperature of 25 degrees, the car drove through quite contrasting environments covering China, Myanmar, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Estonia, Latvia, Germany, Poland and Belgium before it touched the shores of France.
After its star launch last year, the bestselling car has managed to sell more than 1,10,000 cars which has brought Renault to localisation levels of 98% launch.

The company’s country CEO and managing director, Sumit Sawhney mentioned,. “Renault has already started the exports of Renault Kwid to SAARC and African countries. The Delhi – Paris drive was conceptualized to celebrate the success of this car and to highlight its reliability by testing it in the most challenging driving conditions.”


The 45 days drive of Kwid was a zig-zag mix of challenges in the form of many zero degrees, snow ridden roads, heavy rain and monsoon. They even managed a top notch speed of 174kph in Germany.

Rahul Kakkar holds special love for driving and was the leader of drivers for this long road trip. He talks about this enthralling and long trip mentioning, “We were confident of completing the drive. However, there was a definite apprehension especially considering we were to cover a massive distance of 19,000 kilometers. Kwid is an entry level hatchback, and such cars are more suited for city commutes, designed for Indian conditions and not freezing cold weather. The car reached Paris in pristine condition”.
