Are laws different for Royal Families: Rajmahal Palace Land Issue between Diya Kumari and JDA

The spat between Jaipur’s royal family and Jaipur Development Authority has suddenly become the talk of the town when JDA sealed the main entrance of the highly priced Raj Mahal Palace at the posh location of c-scheme on Wednesday morning. The lavish exquisite property borders Civil Lines.

Raj mahal Palace is an exquisite boutique hotel maintained by the Sujan Group. Princess Diya Kumari accused JDA of criminal intimidation and trespassing. Diya Kumari filed many petitions in the lower session court against JDA authorities and JDA Commissioner Shikhar Agarwal.

This is all we have been hearing from few days, and also feeling bad for Diya Kumari and the royal family as they have to deal with law and courts now. Also, we are wondering that how can JDA claim and seize the entrance of a property belonging to Jaipur Rajghrana. But for a second, have we thought that can an educated person like JDA Commissioner Sikhar Agarwal has any personal grudges with Diya Kumari and the royal family of Jaipur, then why will he such an action? The truth is Raj Mahal Palace has been controversial from a long time. The title of ownership is not clear which now has been creating a fuss all over. If for an instance, we thought that had it not been involvement of royal family and Diya Kumari, would still people blame JDA for seizing a disputed property? Is law different for Royal and rich? Can they acquire anyone’s land and get away with it easily because they belong to Rajgharana?

Princess Diya Kumari

India being a democratic country, everyone has the right to fulfill their duties and it is the duty of the Government Employees to take the action against which they have evidence of being a culprit. Then what is the fuss all about?

Certain Media houses are shaming JDA for their act but they are only doing their duty. Our Indian Constitution gives them the right to act for the welfare of people, and our constitution doesn’t discriminate between royals and commons. The laws are same for all.

There are also rumors that all this is happening because of some hidden conflict between Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and Princess Diya Kumari. But how can they forget that JDA is an independent institution and it doesn’t come under the controlling powers of Vasundhara Raje? They two belong to the same political Party and Diya Kumari is a Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the same party.

A few days back, when Salman Khan got acquitted from High Court, each countryman shamed the institution and legal system of India then why is this case different? Should Diya Kumari get a privilege for being rich and belonging to Jaipur’s royal family? JDA commissioner Shikhar Agarwal was very confident for the act he did as both he and Urban Development and Housing (UDH) Minister Rajpal Singh Shekhawat had the discussion over this Rajmahal Land issue and examined the documents clearly before acting. If the land belongs to the people and Government, it is essential that it had to be put to use for welfare purpose and not for the lavish high-society cocktail parties.

The Rajput Organizations are threatening the Government with an agitation protest all over the state. Who gives them the right to safeguard and rescue someone who is questionable in the eyes of law? Or it is the dirty politics and caste card being played by the royal family against the state government and JDA.

The action of JDA is an action demanded by the law for anyone and everyone who tries to acquire Government’s property with wrongful means, and it doesn’t matter who that person is: a commoner or a Royal!!!
