Saif Ali Khan to debut on Netflix with Vikram Chandra’s novel Sacred Games

Sacred Games – an upcoming original series curated by Netflix has roped in Nawab Saif Ali Khan Pataudi and will play the role of Sartaj Singh. And this is something Gross. Isn’t it?

Netflix is a popular US-based on-demand streaming website which has got everybody glued to screens ever since it has ventured into India.

Sacred Games: An epic tale

Sacred Games is based on the Indian author Vikram Chandra’s novel and will be shot in different parts of India.

“Content in the digital space is taking over the existing dynamics at a rapid pace — the crown in the digital empire lies with Netflix, and it’s extremely satisfying to partner and participate in the first original series from India to be showcased on Netflix,” Saif said in a statement.

The series will blend together various aspects and colours of Mumbai and the fanciful things which surrounds it. The series will throw light on politics, corruption, crime and other inexplicable elements which are sure to intrigue us.

“Saif Ali Khan is a true pioneer and risk-taker in Indian cinema, and we could not be more delighted to be working with him on ‘Sacred Games’,” said Erik Barmack, Vice President of international original series at Netflix.

Barmack also shed light on Saif’s role in the series and it couldn’t have been better. Barmack said that Saif’s role is complex and layered.

The Netflix Vice President also expressed his excitement and happiness to be working with Saif, who he referred to as a fantastic actor. “His role is layered and complex, and we are thrilled to be working with such a fantastic actor to bring this story to a global audience,” Barmack added.

Sacred Games will also be co-produced with Phantom Films and is expected to go on floors later this year.
