Saina Nehwal Beats PV Sindhu to bag her third Nationals Title

Saina Nehwal registered a super impressive victory in the National Championship by defeating world No.2 PV Sindhu by 21-17, 27-25. The final match of the National Badminton Championship 2017 was held on Wednesday i.e. 8th November. Apparently, the match was quite a treat to the fans of Nehwal as well as PV Sindhu.

Although both the players were at their best, it was Saina Nehwal who took away the title and regained her crown. The Mankapur Sports Complex filled with a crowd of 5,000 people chanted Saina’s name as she clinched her third title by defeating Sindhu with her trademark smash in a 54-minute game.

As soon as the game started, Nehwal aimed at Sindhu’s midriff while the latter came on to her opponent with net dribbles and sharp drops. Gaining an early lead in the game with 5-3 Saina gradually went defensive but Sindhu constantly kept coming with a strong smash. At one point it seemed like Sindhu would take over but the first game was brought to a 21-17 lead by Nehwal.

The second game started with Sindhu gaining the opening point however, Saina was quick and led the game to a 6-6 draw. Sindhu kept her game plan strong but Nehwal kept countering the opponent by retrieving every drop and dribble.

As none of the players allowed the other to take a lead, the game reached an interesting point. While Sindhu played her best to keep her game alive, Saina ultimately closed the game with a 2 point lead thereby winning the second match 27-25.
