Syed Salahuddin, the recently designated ‘global terrorist’ by the US has made the headlines today. The global terrorist is boasting on Pakistani television that he is the mastermind behind the terror attacks in India. Salahuddin said that his outfit Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) planned the Indian terror attacks.
However, as per Pakistani newspaper Nation dated a couple of days ago, Salahuddin, spelled out that his fighters had attacked military targets and not civilians.
Sallahuddin calls Trump “crazy”
During NaMo’s trip to the USA, Sallahuddin was declared as a “global terrorist” by the US security council, for which he calls Trump administration “idiotic”. Not only this, in a bid to spark angst between Indian and US governments, Sallahuddin referred Trump administration as “a gift” for Modi.
“Donald Trump’s decision will be scrapped once it is challneged it in American courts,” Salahuddin said. “Not even a single country supported what crazy Donald Trump has done,” he added while he was addressing a rally in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir’s (PoK) Muzaffarabad on Saturday.
Referring to the “idiocy of Trump”, he said it can not demoralize us or bring down our courage. It will also not thwart target-oriented actions of freedom-fighters,” Salahuddin added.
Why is Salahuddin a major threat for India?
In 2016, Syed Sallahuddin had issued a threatening warning to India stating that the Kashmir valley be soon turned into “a graveyard for Indian forces.”
As per a notification issued by the state department, “individuals named ‘global terrorists’ are those “who have committed, or pose a significant risk of committing, acts of terrorism that threaten the security of US nationals or the national security, foreign policy, or economy of the United States.” This is the definition suggested by the US legal policy.
Pakistan called the decision of US “completely unjustified” stating that an individual “supporting the Kashmiri right to self-determination.
