The trailer of Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming flick Sanju has been earning positive comments and feedback from fans, critics, and film industry alike. People can’t stop praising Ranbir for donning a look that seems to be a true copy of Sanjay Dutt. However, there’s one actor who has a different opinion and that is none other than Salman Khan.

When asked about the trailer, Salman Khan said that he wonders why Sanjay Dutt himself is not playing the part in the film and pointed out that the last 7 to 8 years of Dutt’s life shown in the movie should be played by Sanjay because no one else can do it better than him.

Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor, who is known as a humble and docile person, was asked about the same. To this, Ranbir had an interestingly witty reply. He said, “It has never happened that a person played himself in his own biopic. This destroys the effect of a character.” He also added that when people watch the film they should be able to feel that an artist is playing Sanjay Dutt, whether it’s the 20-year-old lad or the 40-year-old man.

Well, we couldn’t agree more with Ranbir because to say that no one can play Sanjay Dutt better than him is Salman’s opinion but to imply that Sanjay should himself play his part is impractical. The whole point of making a biopic is to give a tribute to that person and if you cast a person in his own biopic then it would not be a tribute in the first place.

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Sanju is expected to be the biggest film of this year. Also featuring Manisha Koirala, Paresh, Rawal, Vicky Kaushal, Dia Mirza, Anushka Sharma, and Sonam Kapoor in supportive roles, the film will hit the theatres on 29th June.
