Shive Sena Attacks Former Diplomat Sudheendra Kulkarni

The former diplomat Sudheendra Kulkarni faced misbehavior of Shiv Sainiks in Mumbai, which has smeared the top diplomats face with black ink. The act was to register protest against Kulkarni’s participation in a book launch on foreign policy by Khurshid Kasuri – former foreign minister of Pakistan. Mumbai police has filed case against 6 individuals in Sion police station for the act.

Kulkarni was scheduled for a moderate discussion at the launch of Khurshid Kasuri’s book “Neither Hawk, Nor a Dove”. Kulkarni was attacked by the Shiv Sainiks, while he was leaving for office and was near Kings Circle locality.

The Shiv Sena, after the incidence again said that it will disrupt the book lunch if it goes on as planned today. On the ink attack Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Raut said “The ink attack is just mild reaction from Sena, this is not ink but the blood of our Soldiers”. Meanwhile Shiv Sena officials forced officials at the venue Nehru Planetrium to call off the event, as Pakistan supports terrorism.

However, Kulkarni confirmed that today’s event will certainly take place. He in his conversation with local media said “Let’s have a productive interaction with Mr. Kasuri. This will further the noble cause of peace between India and Pakistan”.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has already assured “Total Security for the event”, for all the foreigners, diplomats or foreign dignitaries with proper visa in our country, it is responsibility of government to provide them security said the chief minister. Fadnavis also added that any anti-India propaganda will not be tolerated through such program, if found so, the organizers will be responsible.

It was only a last week that, a concert of Pakistani singer Gulam Ali was cancelled by the organizers, under the prevailing threats propagated by Shiv Sena and its workers. Anyhow, BJP spokesperson of Maharashtra said “party will look into the incidence and take appropriate action against the people involved”.
