Sikh Cop saves boy from mob lynching

A Sikh cop protected a Muslim boy from being attacked by the public and the video of the incident has gone viral. Check out the video below:

In the past few days, several incidents of “moral policing” are taking place across India which has created a sense of fear in many. Whether it’s about beef eating or just a couple hanging out in a public place, apparently lynching has become the go-to solution.

Recently, a similar incident took place in Uttarakhand where the mob was trying to attack a Muslim boy for being involved with a Hindu girl. However, a Sikh Sub-Inspector Gagandeep Singh came to the rescue of the boy and took control of the situation.

It all started when some workers of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) shut down the gate of Garjiya temple at Ramnagar town in Uttarakhand. When sub-inspector Gagandeep Singh reached the premises, he questioned them as to why they were preventing the people from entering. That’s when they told him that couples visiting the area are indulging in unethical behavior which hurts their religious sentiments.

To prove that it was a case of love jihad, they went to the Kosi river and started beating up Muslim boys who were spotted with Hindu girl. As soon as the VHP workers cornered the boy, the Sikh cop not only shielded the boy but also prevented what could have been another case of mob lynching.

The video was shot by someone and later uploaded on social media and everyone watching it praising the cop for risking his life. He is the kind of hero that our society really needs right now. Here’s a look at the response from Tweeple:
