Here’s some exciting news for Masala movie fans! Ranvir Singh is all set to appear as a cop in his upcoming film Simmba. It’s being directed by Rohit Shetty while the production is being handled by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. The first look of the movie was shared by the actor himself on his official Twitter handle.

It’s going to be a fun movie which appears to have Ranveer Singh as a quirky cop in the lead role. The first look suggests a striking similarity with Ajay Devgn’s Singham. Moreover, it’s also reminding of Dabbang’s Chulbul Pandey and even Anil Kapoor’s look in Ram Lakhan.

However, director Rohit Shetty has denied the reports of Ram Lakhan remake in his early interviews. As per Rohit, nowadays young stars are willing to promote each other’s through tweets but they don’t want to work together.

Reportedly, the film Simmba is loosely based on the South Indian flick Temper starring Junior NTR. As per an early interview by Rohit Shetty, he has bought the rights of Temper even though only 4-5 scenes have been taken from it. A similar treatment was done to Singham which was a remake of Suriya starrer movie having the same name.

As far as Simmba is concerned, the female lead is likely to be played by Actress Tamannaah Bhatia. The shooting is speculated to begin soon and the release date is going to be December 28, 2018.

Actor Ranveer Singh is presently awaiting the release of Padmavati, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus, in which he plays the villainous Allauddin Khuilji. It’s supposed to be one of the toughest roles that the actor has played till date. Besides, he is also working on the film Gully Boy, a film by Zoya Akhtar that narrates the life of Mumbai’s street rappers.
