Which song of Padmavati got banned from being played on school cultural events? Know here

The Padmavati row doesn’t seem to end at least until a final decision regarding the release of a film is taken.

Amidst the uproar, the education officer (DEO) Rajiv Suryavanshi in Madhya Pradesh’s Dewas announced a ban on playing the film song at cultural programmes in schools.

The circular was addressed to principals and headmasters of all government and private schools. The circular directed them to ban the song ‘Ghoomar’ from playing at cultural programmes. However, the district collector withdrew the circular nullifying the order and thereby authorizing schools to play the film song.

The issue was given a show cause notice for justifying his action in three days. The letter instructed: “Please not include this song in any of the cultural events at your schools.”

The Ghoomar song has become a hit across the country. From dance parties to kitty parties, this song is making everybody groove to its tune. Suryavanshi also informed that the letter was sent on request of Sri Rajput Karni Sena to ensure that the Hindu sentiments are not hurt. On being asked about his action, Suryavanshi said, “I am not in a situation to comment on the issue right now.”

Conversely, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced that a biography of Rani Padmavati will be included in school textbooks. The minister announced at a public rally in Ujjain.

Alongside, he also confirmed that that the movie will be banned in the state as it features scenes ‘disrespecting the queen’ and ‘tampering with history’.

Recently, Deepika has been very active on social media given that she is the one representing the film everywhere. She wrote:  “And as this day comes to an end, I cannot even begin to express the gratitude and joy I feel today!”

Conversely, she also expressed anger towards an act of hatred.
