Sourav Ganguly Refused To Hold The BCCI President Post Saying “I don’t qualify”.

BCCI is looking for new board president and Saurav Ganguly (a former captain and also president of Cricket Association of Bengal) was approached for the same. But, Ganguly denied the proposal mentioning, he is not fully-fledged for the position.
He promptly dismissed the suggestion and mentioned at CAB office that, “My name is coming up unnecessarily. I don’t qualify. I have just completed one year (as the CAB president) and have got two more years left. I am not in the running (for the BCCI president’s post).”

When Ganguly was asked about the implementation of Lodha Committee’s reforms, Ganguly mentioned that, BCCI has no other option than following their reforms.

Further he said, “We are having an office-bearers’ meeting tomorrow (on Wednesday) where we will decide on the future”.
CAB will be having meeting today to discuss all the ways for forward approach.

The CAB chief also mentioned that many of the current officials are on the grounds of ineligibility in the polls of the associations, still they will find the someone to fill the gap.

Ganguly also mentioned that, CAB will be conducting the Special General Meeting after the conduct of the third ODI only between India and England on January 22 at the Eden Gardens.

There has been air of panic since cricket board president Anurag Thakur and secretary Ajay Shirke were dismissed. The decision was taken to introduce the flair of more transparency in the system.

The decision brought enough heat with it, when just a day after Anurag Thakur and Brijesh Patel were asked to abandon the position, Brijesh Patel (Karnataka State Cricket Association bearer) and two others such candidates suggested their resignation.

For the time being, till the higher body don’t get any new holder, the senior most vice president of the BCCI would carry out the secretary functions.
