Students get a Kiss of Learning from teacher; boycotts her jewellery for digital boards, new flooring in classroom

As a mom sacrifices her everything for the well-being of her child and the child in reciprocation becomes a better human being to justify the mother’s sacrifices. Like mothers, teachers devote everything of theirs to ensure that her students receive the best of everything. One such godly teacher named Annapurna Mohan gave a kiss of life to her students.

Annapurna Mohan devoted herself to make her students’ education better. She is  a teacher of students studying in Class 3 at a school in Tamil Nadu’s Villupuram.

To ensure that her students receive full fledged education, Annapurna sold off her jewellery. From the amount received against her jewellery, the students were gifted with an interactive smartboard, new furnished furniture, new flooring clubbed with tons of English-language reading books worth 5000 bucks.

Notably, all these additions were added to a small classroom at the Panchayat Union Primary School (PUPS), Kandhadu!

Annapurna also informed that she used to converse in English with her students. She said, “I tried to create a good environment for English in my classroom. I conversed with my students in English from the beginning of the class till the end. In the beginning, some of them didn’t understand it, but in time, they began to respond.”

Annapurna believed that teachers in Tamil Nadu were ill-equipped to teach English pronunciation, and that the existing system needed to be changed. She began to implement more efficient methods of teaching in her classroom.

Annapurna took to Facebook and uploaded a wonderful video which touched the hearts of many people across the country. Folks from Canada and Singapore were highly appreciative of this initiative. People expressed their appreciation in the form of a badminton racquet.

As a ray of hope attracts another, Annapurna’s selfless contributions instilled a feeling of charity and selfless in other villagers. Contributions from people from all walks of life have been flowing in into making the classroom a better learning hub for the students.
