The promotions of upcoming flick Sui Dhaaga starring Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan will begin from National Handloom Day on August 7. This Yashraj Production aims at celebrating entrepreneurship and empowering self-reliance.
As the name itself suggests, the film is about a man who is a tailor and a woman who is an embroiderer who comes together to celebrate Indian craftsmanship. As per Producer Maneesh Sharma, it would be fitting to start the promotions on National Handloom Day that is dedicated to the skilled entrepreneurs of the country.
The importance of craftsmanship and hand-made articles can be found even in the History of India. Right from the Swadeshi Movement that was launched on August 7, 1905, aimed at reviving local craftsmen and entrepreneurs. This is why the central government had declared the day as National Handloom Day considering its importance in Indian history.
Talking about the characters, only the names of the leads of the film have been revealed as of now. Interestingly, both Anushka and Varun will be donning a completely new look for the film. They look simple yet impactful in their own de-glammed avatars, which is indicating that the story will be quite entertaining.
Reportedly, the promotions of Sui Dhaaga will begin from August 7 whereby both Anushka and Varun will be touring across the country. The “first asset” will be launched on August 7 followed by its trailer a week later. Directed by Sharat Katariya, the film will hit the theatres on September 28.
