Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2018 begins from 1 August; PM urges to participate

Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2018 has been announced from 1st – 31st August, 2018. The survey aims to gauge the progress already achieved by the Swachh Bharat Mission in rural India. In order to promote cleanliness in the districts and states of India, India is making efforts. To promote cleanliness in villages, under this initiative, the Governor of Jammu & Kashmir released a booklet on “Success Story of the Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) in J&K” and “Swachh Survekshan Grameen-2018 Guidelines” and the State SSG 2018 logo. Madurai launched the logo of its district’s ‘Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2018’ campaign.

PM Narendra Modi also invites people to be part of this campaign. He tweets,
“Swachh Survekshan Grameen is an extensive effort that will give both strength and crucial feedback to the nation’s efforts of creating a Swachh Bharat.
I invite you all to take part in this survey.”

Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2018
On the basis of quantitative and qualitative sanitation (Swachhata) parameters, the “Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2018” is being undertaken. Under this survey, the States and Districts will be ranked for their sanitation and cleanliness status. This survey is carried out by the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation (MDWS). These parameters include solid waste management, use of infrastructure, district-level surveys of public places like schools, anganwadis, haat bazaars and citizen’s perception of Swachhata. The best performing States and Districts will be awarded on birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi i.e. 2nd October, 2018.
