The new face of India: Kangana Ranaut

Kangana Ranaut who has been in news right from her attack on actresses who supports fairness cream to the biasing in Bollywood where actresses are paid less.  She lately launched her own line of designer clothes named ‘Vero Moda Marquee’ where she stunned the stage. The recent Queen of Bollywood is now the first Indian actor to attend the Women in The World summit in London where she recalled her journey from a small town girl to making it quite big in Bollywood.Hollywood stars Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, First Minister of Scotland Nicole Sturgeon and Queen Rania of Jordan were also part of the summit this year.

She is now the leading lady of Bollywood and her rebellious attitude is what she preserves for her long run. Kangana Ranaut being introduced as “the new face of India” outlined the Indian mentality where girl child is still considered a liability and grudged with all the rules. She speaks “I was a pain, not a child that Indian parents would like to have. I was quite rebellious. I didn’t see myself as a liability — I guess my parents did — or, as someone whose purpose of life was to find a good husband. I was confident of myself. I liked how my father had a lot of expectations from my brother and I wanted to be that person he could be proud of, who could be her own hero.”

She recalled her initial days of struggle after she ran away from her home to achieve her identity. She recollects her initial days were not a straight road and filled with all the possible hurdles to break her down. She stood and faced them up. The actress who was always criticized for her English in her starting days never gave up and took everything with positives. She is now made it big and reconciled with her all the setbacks.

Discussing the 2012 Delhi gang rape incident, Kangana said she is pessimistic about India becoming a safer place in the near future. “I think that’s a little impractical to hope (for),” she said.

Kangana who is representing India globally has intense standpoint for womankind and says “the darkest and deepest corners of the human soul have always been feminine. They offer the only way to penetrate the darkness — not anger or aggressive masculine emotions.”

Kangana, beyond the shadow of a doubt believes in her capabilities and always remain blessed because of her family’s support.
