The International Cricket Council (ICC) recently pitched the official ICC men’s Team Rankings for Test, One Day International (ODI) and T20 cricket.India finally after 5 years bounced back to the peak in the Test ranking. India is the new skipper with a 110 rating points followed by Australia and the South Africa.07con-team

Sania Mirza, Saina Nehwal awarded Padma Bhushan –

Women conquered 2016’s Padma awards for sports with tennis superstar Sania Mirza and champion shuttler Saina Nehwal getting the dip for the Padma Bhushan and on the other hand archer Deepika Kumari was selected for the Padma Shri. All three were inspirational in the year that’s gone and fetched the country glory in their respective sports.

India becomes No. 1 in T20 rankings after clean sweep over Australia:

Team India after winning T20 series against Australia by 3-0, became the number one in Twenty20 International ranking. India won the final match by 7 wickets which was played at the Sydney Cricket Ground. With this win, India jumped from number 8 to number 1 of the ICC T20 Rankings.

Indian women won maiden T20 series against Aus:

The Indian women’s cricket team drafted history by seizing its maiden Twenty20 series win above three-time world champion Australia with a extensive 10-wicket victory in the second game played in Melbourne. With this win, the Indians established a 2-0 lead in the three-match series which ends on January 31st in Sydney.

Heena to stand for India at Rio Olympic Games 2016:

Heena Sidhu, the pistol shooter, will represent India at the Rio Olympics Games scheduled to start from 5 August 2016. She won gold and a quota in the 10m air pistol event at the Asian Olympic shooting qualifier at Dr. Karni Singh Range.
