‘Udta Punjab’ cut scenes and the Censor Board controversy

The upcoming Bollywood flick ‘Udta Punjab’ starring Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt and the pUnjabi star Diljit Dosangh, is going through alot of ups and down. Where on one hand the fans and the audience is eagerly waiting for the release of the movie after they saw the smacking trailer and the song featuring Shahid Kapoor ‘Chitta Ve’, on the other hand is the censor board with all the obligations.

The Censor Board’s Revising Committee told the producers of the movie ‘Udta Punjab’ on Friday that they cannot have a reference of the state Punjab in the movie. What? Why not? We bet you are upset too. But let us tell you that’s not all. The censor board has also recommended cutting out 89 scenes from the movie which shows the substance abuse and involvement of political parties. Censor Board says the film should not make any specific political references.

The producers of the movie ‘Udta Punjab’ has planned to to take the censorship case to the Bombay High Court now against the verdict of the Revising Committee.
