Virat Kohli, the captain of Indian Cricket team has made another milestone with its recent success of completing 9000 ODI runs during the series-deciding third game against New Zealand in Kanpur. With this achievement, Virat Kohli has become the sixth Indian and the fastest one too. After Sachin Tendulkar (100 tons), he stands as second Indian batsman in terms of international hundreds.
Kohli reached the score of 9000 runs in ODI in the 37th over against New Zealand. He scored his 32nd ODI century off 96 balls and eventually got out on 113. His 106-ball knock was studded with nine fours and a six. In fact, Rohit Sharma too struck his 15th ODI century as India were on course for a massive score.
Kohli achieved the landmark victory in his 194th innings and in his 202nd ODI. AB de Villiers was the one who held the record for being the fastest to 9,000 ODI runs. Now, this honour is earned by Kohli. Not only this, Virat has reached his 49th international century surpassing Rahul Dravid (48 tons). In fact, it is slated that soon Virat Kohli can surpass the score of Sachin Tendulkar.

Indian players who have made 9000 runs in ODI are Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly and Mohammad Azharuddin.
Virat Kohli has never an average of below 40 in a calendar year in ODIs. In 2017, he has scored 1,347 runs at an average of 74.83 this year. His average score of last year was 92.37 in ODIs.
