The entire world went crazy when cute love birds Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma were spotted at Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun. When they checked into a holiday resort to spend quality time with one another, the speculations about their engagement got intensified. To make things worse, an anonymous receptionist at the resort confirmed the possibilities of a ring ceremony scheduled in January.
The news spread like a wildfire on social media and wishes started pouring in from all the four corners of the world. The fans were thrilled to hear about the reunion of ‘Virushka’ (Virat and Anushka) as they fondly call it. To add fuel to the fire, the paparazzi spotted the duo shopping for Christmas celebrations together.
What started as a family vacation for Anushka turned into a large-scale scandal. Anushka’s mother, who’s a Garhwali by origin belongs to Dehradun. Her maternal family resides in Dehradun. Perhaps that’s why Anushka went to celebrate the year end with her family members. A few media people spotted Virushka performing rituals at a temple in Dehradun. This morning, he debunked the rumours on Twitter by Tweeting a message for his fans. This was followed by Anushka’s spokesperson agreeing with Kohli’s statement. Though Anushka kept mum about the gossips, she simply re-tweeted her beau’s tweets.
For now, the rumour mills can rest in peace. ‘Virushka’ fans may be disappointed, but at least they can celebrate a peaceful New Year together.
